In this talk, we’ll begin with background on 10+ years of work with homeless young people, including co-creation of a community technology center and the Music is My Life art show. Then, we’ll move on to a closer look at a project where Google employees volunteered to co-create a digital street newspaper system with Real Change Newspaper. Q&A to follow.
Jill Woelfer is a Senior User Experience Researcher at Google. Her work has covered a number of domains in HCI and Information Science, including 10+ years of research, design and service projects with homeless people. Jill holds a PhD in Information Science from the University of Washington Information School. Co-author of 30+ publications, her work has also been covered by TV, press and radio. Jill is a UW Graduate School Medalist, a Fulbright Fellow to Canada, and a Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholar.
