I want to create technology solutions that work for people and are motivated by their needs. My focus is on solving information problems in the domain of medicine and health. Currently, I'm focusing on applying user-centered design techniques in the creation of a system to support the personal information management needs unique to breast cancer patients.

Current Projects

LitLinker: A text mining system to find novel connections within the biomedical literature. Biomedical researchers will use LitLinker to find areas for potential new discovery and it is important that LitLinker's interface enable browsing and evaluation of the potential connections generated by LitLinker. We have focused on creating a visualization to show these relationships in an understandable way so researchers can use their biomedical expertise to evaluate these proposed connections.
