Human Centered Design & Engineering
I am a first-year PhD student in the Human Centered Design & Engineering department at the University of Washington. My research interests are in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Persuasive Technologies, Intelligent User Interfaces, violating user expectations, cognitive training, autonomous interfaces, and game design theory. I am affiliated with Dr. Julie kientz's Computing for Healthy Living & Learning (CHiLL) Lab, where I research interfaces to enable thought. I am also researching interfaces to violate user expectations as a mechanism for cognitive training. I have 4 years experience as a software engineer, a master's in Human Computer Interaction and undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Art. My general interests include adoption of game design theories for workplace processes, absurdism and surrealism as learning tools, Individualized interface adaptation.
