I am a class-taking, code-writing, paper-reading, conference-attending, knowledge-producing, PhD-seeking, grad student in the School of Computer Science at the University of Washington. My research interests lie in the intersection between Human Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence. As part of the DuB group, I receive excellent advice from James Landay and James Fogarty. My work is funded by the US government in the form of a NDSEG fellowship.

Currently there are a number of exciting, potentially life-changing applications of machine learning, such as activity recognition systems and brain computer interfaces. However, these applications are hard to develop, especially for those without extensive expertise in machine learning. I want to make it so that more people can adopt machine learning to build cool new applications. To this end, I am working on tools that make it easier for developers to integrate statistical machine learning into their applications.
